Having grown up in Pittsburgh and lived in Baltimore for years, I have always loved the juxtaposition of old and new, steel mill or dockyard next to gleaming skyscraper, rusty and sleek, dated and modern, or industrial and digital. Born in Pittsburgh in the mid 70’s when Pittsburgh was just starting to clean itself up, I got to see plenty of this type of duality.
I received a BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and an MS in Interaction Design and Information Architecture from the University of Baltimore. As mentioned, I grew up in Pittsburgh, lived in Baltimore for 10 years, and have lived in Brooklyn since 2007. In New York, I continue to make art (occasionally showing) and I have worked on the websites for numerous publications including wired.com, usmagazine.com (UsWeekly’s site), rollingstone.com, essence.com, and ew.com (Entertainment Weekly) among other websites in product development, team management, and engineering capacities (see: ahsodes.com)
I occasionally produce work on commission. Email ten.rahpsylloh@ofni to discuss.
